The purchase of the birthplace of Father Gras: a wish that we had been longing for as an Institute for many years has been realized.
Counting on the fraternal and effective collaboration of the Diocese of Urgel, in the person of Mr. Carles Martín, Delegate of economic affairs, and Mr. Jaume Mayoral, Parish Priest of Agramunt, we have contacted the owner of what was once a house. birthplace of the Founding Father and, after prolonged conversations, an agreement has been reached for the sale of it to the Institute of Daughters of Christ the King.
On the morning of September 16, the purchase-sale contract was signed before a notary, with the presence, in addition to the owner of the house, of Mr. Carles Martín, Mr. Jaume Mayoral, M. Patricia Suárez, Superior General, and the Sisters Fátima López and Fátima Falcón.
After purchasing and handing over the keys, we headed to the house, “Cal Tarill” they call it in Agramuntino slang. The sisters from the Agramunt community joined the group. With emotion we toured the rooms, before the surprised gaze of the former owner who guessed in our joy what this place means to the Daughters of Christ the King, not because of its real estate value, but because the one who would be our Founder saw the light here.
The next endearing moment was the visit to the Virgin of Socos to thank this event and continue putting our Institute in her hands.
Next, Mr. Jaume accompanied us to visit the Castell del Remei estate, where the Sanctuary of the Virgin of Remei is located, as well as a castle built at the end of the 19th century on an old building and vestiges of the agricultural colony. most important of the time between vineyards, groves and lakes.
Let us live the acquisition of the birthplace as another example of our affection and veneration for Father Gras and let us continue committed to the dissemination of his person and his work to soon enjoy the grace of seeing him glorified as a testimony of holiness in the Church .
