Easter Talarrubias 2023 "On the Footsteps of the King".
“A seeker is someone who searches; not necessarily someone who finds.
Nor is he someone who necessarily knows what he is looking for. He is simply someone for whom his life is a search." This is how we began this Easter, being seekers of the One who called us from the heart to accompany him in the most difficult week of his life but also the most filled with love for all of us. We looked for the one who invited us to live closely what it means to love to the extreme.
And we already began to discover those traces of love when we got home, to Talarrubias, with every detail prepared for the group that was going to be there those days: Welcome, sweets, decoration in the chapel, cleaning and even smells... Everything ready to begin Our Great Search that the people we met on the Via Crucis that night already pointed out to us and welcomed us with affection and desire to share that adventure of Passion. The Holy Thursday track led us to share Bread and word from life, doing workshops with the little ones, taking our joy to the Nursing Home, listening to words of real but painful wisdom. With all this we celebrate the Agape at home, as friends of that King who summoned us to share bread and life, to celebrate in the afternoon as an ecclesial community the Commandment of Love and Service, pushing others to live it also from Holy Hour, hour of bitterness and inconsolation, capable of passing it only from the silence of the heart.
The next clue led us to a Good Friday, full of pain due to the tragedy of a young man from the town, much loved, who died that day in an accident. Pain of a mother who reminded us of the pain of Mary when looking at that cross. And it is that the crosses follow one another in life, a patent and living reality in our days. We accompanied Jesus through the streets of Talarrubias, with his face more sore than ever, reflecting on the suffering of these families who could only ask, why? Silence and our prayer in the afternoon celebration was our Being and Accompanying in the mourning of Mary and her disciples, updated on the pain of a specific family on the Via Crucis in the afternoon, presenting the activities of the children's workshops and the requests of the elderly made in the residence. The track on Saturday morning was the joy of nourishing hope together, some praying the rosary with the ladies in the chapel of Cristo Rey and others in the hermitage of Siruela, where we withdrew as a group and later personally to listen to the echoes of the heart. Echoes that spoke to us of patience, of processes, of regret and mistakes that germinate in life and joy, in Excited Waiting. Sharing, singing and playing strengthened the group to face together the culminating moment of our Easter: The Easter Vigil in which not only the candles of the Paschal Candle were lit, but also the sparks of resurrected faith in our hearts that made The Glory to God will resonate in each one of us. Group of seekers who find and help others to find, to continue in the daily search for signs, details of life that make the town of Talarrubias a happy and exciting scene of Resurrection. Thanks to each and every one of those who have made it possible to say with a powerful voice in Talarrubias: Hallelujah, Christ lives and reigns forever!
