Junior training from August 20 to September 03, 2022
NIANING, SENEGAL
“The juniorate includes the time destined to mature and deepen the desire to give oneself totally to Jesus Christ the King and, consequently, to the brothers.
During these few days, we met for a time of formation as requested by the Church and our Institute, while being
sure that the best part of formation we acquire in daily life, in community, apostolic life…”
At the end of the morning of Saturday August 20, we found ourselves in “SUNU KEUR” (Nianing) coming from different horizons. It all started with
reception, installation and cleaning. We started the training in the afternoon with a celebration.
The training was led by our elder sisters Béatrice Amy Ndour, General Counselor for training and Marguerite Goudiaby, in charge of
coordination of the training of juniors. There were also other speakers such as Sister Fatima Lopez, Bursar General, Father Charles Lopy and the
Father Norbert (SJ). It was marked by different themes revolving around human formation, sharing of experience, community experience, and spirituality.
We began our days with Mass at Epiphany of the Lord Parish, followed by breakfast, chores, conference, reflection
personal, group sharing, lunch, siesta, manual activities or relaxation at the beach, personal prayer, vespers, supper, vigil or a movie and we closed our day with prayer of the evening.
Saturday 27 was for us a day of recollection on the theme: THE MOTTO CHRIST REIGNS. Some of our sisters had to renew their vows during this formation. Monday 29 was a day of relaxation at the beach and Thursday 01 was declared free, so we took the opportunity to prepare the mass of thanksgiving for the 50 years of religious life of an Elder sister.
The training ended on September 3rd.
This time was for us a real renewal thanks to the themes which rekindled in us the desire to follow our King, to know him better for
serve him better. It also allowed us to experience very good moments of fraternity between juniors. We express our deep gratitude to our dear Institute who made this possible. May the King of love further awaken in us the zeal that animated our dear Father Gras so that his reign spreads in all hearts.
