III Online training on volunteering in a vocational key:
Under the question Did you know that... social action has its own spirituality? The III Online Training Meeting on volunteering as a vocation was launched, from the PJV of the Daughters of Christ the King.
In this III session, which took place on March 10, 2024, the Social Pastoral Team also collaborated and the topic of spirituality in social action was discussed. With this meeting, we intended to become aware, inspired by the words of Darío Mollá, sj, of some necessary and essential keys when we want to approach and “help” the weakest, most vulnerable, the excluded, people who need exceptional delicacy, attention and respect.
We started from some voices of famous people who highlight the importance of living for others, as well as that of Martin Luther King who challenged us: “The most urgent and persistent question is: What are you doing for others?” Later we had a moment of prayer led by the gospel verse: “He saw a great crowd and was moved” Mc 6, 34, in which we approached internally the way of doing and acting of Jesus.
We introduced our reflection by confirming that there are many people doing good to others, but some are also changing their own lives and those of others, from the deep experience of looking in the way of Jesus and feeling called to approach those who suffer with the same delicacy, gratuitousness and respect. With the help of the theologian and philosopher Juan Martín Velasco we approach the understanding of the mystical experience, not as an experience that only great saints have, but as one that any believer can have when he truly loves and encounters the face of Jesus in others, experiencing what he promised us: “whatever you did for one of these, my little ones, you did it for me” Mt 25:40
After disseminating the propaganda of the meeting through various media, several Daughters of Christ the King and 10 young people from different countries, especially interested in this topic, signed up and were connected, who were recovering some ideas from what was presented by the three sisters who led the meeting, leaving them written in the meeting chat, enriched with their point of view.
