Last Thursday, November 6, the members of the Movement belonging to the Communities of the Kingdom stage, as well as those over 25 years of age in the process of discernment to make the commitment related to this stage, had a virtual fraternal sharing with the Superior General of the Daughters of Christ the King Institute, Mother Patricia Suárez Calderón. Also accompanied by the local Advisors and the Superiors of the houses where there is life of the Movement, thus reinforcing our connection with the Institute and community life.
The meeting began with a prayer in which the words of the Gospel of Luke resonated, in which Jesus calls his disciples, in the same way that He encourages all the members of the MAR today to consolidate their commitment. A commitment that, in the words of the Venerable José Gras, invites us not to cease "to bear witness to the desire we have for His Sovereignty to be accepted throughout the earth."
After placing the meeting in the hands of the Lord, Mother Patricia took the floor and gave a general tour of the main characteristics of the Communities of the Kingdom, as well as the meaning of their commitment. In this way, he expressed the importance for the members of this stage to be ferment in the middle of the world, not by carrying out great works, but through small acts that, like yeast, lay the foundations for the great works of the future.
Likewise, he highlighted the relevance of being part, together with the Institute, of the same charismatic family, since the charisma received unifies us, makes us more and mutually enriches us based on the experiences of the lay people and consecrated women. The charism is a gift from God to the Church and humanity: it expands, it is not confined; It does not belong to a particular congregation or religious institute, but is the way in which God breaks into our world.
Finally, all the members present at the meeting had the opportunity to speak and express the needs and challenges that, in their opinion, must be considered to live the commitment as Communities of the Kingdom as stated in the Stage Manual. Among the concerns expressed, the distribution of members at this stage, the opportunity to reinforce the Community Project and the importance of accompaniment by the religious of the Institute stood out.
With this certainty that united in the same love and animated by the same spirit, we will be strong to work for the Kingdom of Christ, the meeting concluded with the renewed desire to continue building living, fraternal and committed communities, which make the love of Christ the King visible in the midst of the world.
