In 1950 the beatification process of José Gras and Granollers began, with the purpose that his life given entirely to God and his Kingdom, be recognized by the Universal Church.
In 1994 St. John Paul II decreed the heroism of his virtues, being declared "Venerable": "They include the evidence about the practice, to a heroic degree, of the theological virtues of Faith, Hope and Charity, both towards God and towards others, as well as the cardinal virtues of Prudence, Justice, Strength and Temperance…”.
