This May 26, 2025 marked the opening of the 150th anniversary of the Institute of the Daughters of Christ King. And for professional reasons, we celebrated it on Saturday May 24, 2025 in Senegal at the Saint Théophile Cathedral in Kaolack.
On April 20, 1979 Kaolack welcomed the first girls of Christ King which influenced the choice of the place where the opening was made.
Like any event, this activity required not only a human preparation but also spiritual by a novena that had started on May 15 in all our communities.
On Friday, we daughters of Christ King, we are found in the Kaolack community for the preparations for the said party. This day was marked by the latest purchases, installation, decoration and cooking.
On Saturday 24, celebration day, accompanied by our former juises, our collaborators, sympathizers, friends, families, pastoral agents and knowledge, we found ourselves around Monsignor Martin Boucar Tine Bishop of the said diocese for the Eucharistic celebration which officially marked this opening. During the Eucharist in different stages, we briefly presented the history of our institute, its presence in the world, its mission and its charisma particularly in Africa.
At the end of this celebration, the party continued at Pius XII college where we welcomed our guests. With them we shared a succulent and fraternal meal closed by services of the home girls.
In summary this party was simple and fraternal.
