The Institute of Daughters of Christ King begins a jubilee time for the 150 years of Foundation.
In various places of the Institute, from one to the other, in the midst of festive acts and eucharists of opening of the jubilee, Glory has been sung to Christ with deep emotion and gratitude for the beginning of this year in which we commemorate the 150 years of one humble beginnings that have been being fruitful and today they continue to do it through the religious and the charismatic family.
In Granada, place of the birth of the Institute on May 26, 1876, the solemn opening act of the Jubilee took place, on May 24, an emotional act, in which through the Word and Music we were tuned with this event and happy all (sea, educators, students of today and yesterday, friends closely and far -also the coming from Agramunt-, daughters of Christ the King) by José Gras and to be an active part of this 150 -year -old story, called to be extended through new challenges, always seeking to make Christ reign in society.
On Sunday, May 25, a pilgrimage from San Gregorio to El Sacromonte, chaired by the king's child, took place. Banners with their image and flags of the countries where we are present, joining the precious days of the spring of Granada and the impressive views of the Alhambra and Sacromonte, gave color and solemnity to this path tante times traveled by the Fr. Gras in his apostolic adventures. Hymns to Cristo Rey resonated throughout the journey.
And the time of the central and largest act came: the Eucharistic celebration in the Sacromonte chaired by the Urgell Archbishop, Mons. Joan-Enric Vives, concelebrated by D. Antonio Fernández, Abad del Sacromonte, and other friends priests. Civil authorities of Granada and Agramunt, religious and religious of friendly congregations, laity, families, students (special mention to the Choir of Alcalá la Real), members of the sea, the general government of the daughters of Christ the King and religious of different communities participated in the Eucharist.
In this holy place in which he was forged in Fr. Gras, in the heat of the spirit, the charism that made him founder of a religious institute, we ask God to encourage that same calls to continue being living witnesses of a resurrected Christ, Lord and King, and thus be able to attract many hearts to the recognition and worship of his sovereignty.
