Mother Inés encouraged the first nuns saying "form a single heart". With the desire to make this desire come alive from the beginning of the course, last Monday, September 6, the Educational Community of Villanueva del Arzobispo traveled to the Alpujarra land of Albuñol to share a day of coexistence and training with the figure of the First Superior General of the Institute as a reference.
The central part of the day was marked by a pilgrimage between the Mother's birthplace and the Home School through an adaptation of the book “A love that fills life”. The verbs awaken, search, care and love throughout the life of the Mother marked the course of this particular itinerary that not only made us walk the streets of Albuñol but also the life experiences of the members of the Educational Community confronted with the biography of a woman of immensity and smallness. At the end of the pilgrimage, the educational communities of Albuñol and Villanueva shared the Bread and the Word in a warm and fraternal Eucharist.
Looking back at the origins awakens in us the apostolic zeal of the Father and the self-denial of the Mother whose words we can feel directed towards each member of our Educational Community “we are going to set fire to the world so that… Jesus may be known”.
We take advantage of this space to thank the community of Hijas de Cristo Rey in Albuñol for the generosity with which they opened the doors of their homes and their hearts to us, and to Don Fernando Rodríguez, parish priest of the town for his availability and closeness.
