THE LORD IT IS GREAT WITH US AND WE ARE HAPPY
The Daughters of Christ the King held an institutional meeting with the participation of all communities on November 27, 2021.
The festive celebration and contagious joy have been dominant notes in the three hours lived in light of the acts and words of Jesus at the Wedding at Cana and in the city of Capernaum, which encourage, console, heal and liberate, in personal, community and mission life, even in the midst of the chaos and difficulties that surround current times.
Three years after the last General Chapter, it was appropriate to make an appreciative evaluation that helps us discover, dream and formulate aspirations capable of giving a strong boost to the institutional charisma in the here and now and providing the current world with horizons of meaning, fraternity and dignity.
The evaluation began with the study and community contribution in three Stages:
– Discover what I am passionate about and what moves me; what is emerging.
– Shared dreams, openness and trust in the necessary changes.
– Shared aspirations in the unity of the Charisma, aware of the difficulties and limitations.
And a fourth stage: DESTINATION, defined at the Meeting of Local Superiors and General Government with the responses of the communities to the first three stages, in July 2021.
Enriched with days of formation and studies by commissions, a special climate arose for discernment and asking ourselves: How can we advance the Kingdom? How to find words capable of transforming reality into openness and hope?

That DESTINY, the result of discernment, was presented to the entire Institute in the online meeting last November 27. After the presentation, STOP, to ask the sisters to intervene: What resonates with us in the face of this DESTINY? Question posed to each Community for group reflection and concretion in a word. As a result? We receive an enriching constellation of words. Each word is a tile to form the “mosaic” that will illuminate our future path.
We want to create the future together, looking from the Charisma and the Gospel, “where God wants us, today.” Making possible the experience of the Kingdom of the Lord Jesus, from service and loving care in the face of any human need, softening wounds with the balm of kindness.
What we propose is an easy task for us. Very aware of this and even with a good sense of humor, we have set ourselves twelve challenges… nothing more… and nothing less.
- Contemplative gaze that makes the MISSION profound and creative
- Confidence in themselves and in the Lord Jesus, living grateful for the gifts received and never getting tired of doing GOOD, with a great sense of institutional belonging.
- Feeling that we walk together, calling for close encounters and joyful relationships that favor dialogue, participation and synodal co-responsibility. Insisting on listening, speaking, prayer, shared and co-responsible decision.
- Take care of the community animation service, facilitate mutual information and communication. Be a bridge between the sisters and the levels of government.
- Open ourselves to new styles and structures in the communities, to be in the near and far peripheries of greatest vulnerability.
- Careful attention to the Elder Sisters, to the sick. Affective and effective mutual care.
- Renewed sense of mission. Know that the mission is not part of our life but our life.
- Reorganizations, to open ourselves to the new emergencies of our world with a new and vigorous call.
- Strengthen Educational Pastoral as the backbone of our works as evangelizing platforms, updating and promoting the Educational Thought of Father Gras, our Founder.
- Strengthen and promote the shared mission through pastoral witness and active presence in our educational centers.
- Prioritize our presence with young people by going out to meet them.
- Strengthen our MAR Movement, calling and encouraging a Christian commitment according to the Charisma of José Gras.
There is a word in the graph that is very appropriate to conclude: OPENING
To God who is always and always comes to make his home in the human heart.
To brothers and sisters of all races and places.
To all events, which always arrive in a timely manner and are called by God in this exact here and now.
