FAMILY. CHARISM, GRATITUDE... were words that marked this First Preparatory Meeting of the group of lay people who will participate in the XXIII General Chapter. The Meeting, convened by the General Government, was held on April 27 from 4 to 8 p.m., Madrid time, and 29 lay people from all latitudes and pastoral realities of the Institute participated. After the greeting and the initial prayer, the Mother General briefly presented the objective of the meeting and the meaning of a General Chapter, to give way to a long space in which each participant could introduce themselves and, above all, share the response to a question that they had previously been invited to reflect on:
What does the charisma of José Gras and the relationship with the Daughters of Christ the King bring to your life?
The responses were arriving “from one end to the other”, recognizing the charisma and educational thought of José Gras as a reference for life, as a seal that has been installed in the heart and affects all domains of existence, as something that cannot be kept but must be transmitted, something that provides a sense of belonging, family, mission. “Love teaches how to teach” was the star phrase in the sharing of experiences and, along with it, the recognition of Father Gras as a brave man, a visionary and passionate apostle, committed to doing good in a reality that does not differ both of ours. The Daughters of Christ the King as a second family, accompanying us in the different moments of life, weaving a story of mutual care, like those who have helped to grow in faith and in the encounter with the Lord, testimony of simplicity, respect, dedication and service, strength and support, “now is the time to return good for good, accompanying them in that shared mission.
FAMILY, CHARISMA, THANK YOU to Christ the King for giving us this experience.
