Did you know that… there are “key episodes” that repeat themselves in every vocation?
On May 2, we had an international meeting of PJV in which, seven HCRs, we told some anecdote experienced in our vocational history, completing among all the “eight key episodes” about which we wanted to discuss at the meeting.
For the HCRs that were connected, this space was a gift in which to be able to listen to young people who, after several meetings, are sharing, with more and more depth, their concerns. Some of them, clearly touched by the Lord, expressed themselves with emotion, others with joy for recognizing His presence in what happens to them, many with relief, upon hearing that the HCR also suffered moments of uncertainty, fear or doubts in their beginnings. Several said they were looking for the way in which He wants to fulfill the call they feel in their hearts, because they know they are called to follow Him, but they take these moments to discover how to do it, in the midst of the number of demands they have at university, work, family...
The eight moments we shared can be read CLICKING HERE and then on the title of the interactive poster.
We leave here the echo of a 21-year-old participant:
Listening to the sisters' testimony made me notice that these moments also occurred and continue to occur in my life. Realizing that other people also go through the same thing makes me feel supported. What happens to me is not something strange or from another world, it is something worth sharing.
Although each experience is unique, they all share something, the call of God. I always felt like I was called to something big and important. Today I realize that something great is the dream that the Lord has for me.
Obviously I am full of fears and doubts, but I have already learned that they are normal and part of the path. I don't have to let them control me, much less feel bad about having them. I think I can say that I am a little less afraid of my fears.
God waits for each one's moment without forcing anything and always accompanying, ready for when we decide to follow the path that, as Sister Elián said, is different but beautiful.
The word different caught my attention and remained echoing in my head for the rest of the meeting since I heard it. What is different generally scares us and sometimes even generates rejection. Why? It will be because the different is presented to us as a challenge. What we have to realize is that what is different is also presented to us as an opportunity to share all that love that we carry inside because there was someone who loved us first.
